Mission
Revista Mexicana de Enfermedad Inflamatoria Intestinal is the official scientific publication of Grupo Académico y de Investigación en Crohn y CUCI de México, A.C. (GAICCUM). Its mission is to promote the generation, dissemination, and application of scientific knowledge on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), contributing to advances in research, clinical practice, and patient care through the publication of high-quality scientific articles.
Vision
To become the leading Spanish-language scientific journal on inflammatory bowel disease in Latin America, recognized for its editorial excellence, scientific quality, and contribution to research and clinical practice, while fostering multidisciplinary collaboration and international scientific exchange.
Aims and scope
The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, clinical practice guidelines, consensus statements, brief communications, clinical images, editorials, letters to the editor, and other scientific contributions related to inflammatory bowel disease.
Its scope encompasses basic, translational, and clinical research on Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, including epidemiology, pathophysiology, immunology, microbiota, genetics, diagnosis, endoscopy, imaging, pathology, medical and surgical management, biologic and emerging therapies, precision medicine, nutrition, extraintestinal manifestations, complications, quality of life, health outcomes, pediatric IBD, specialized nursing, and related disciplines.
The journal encourages the publication of original research and high-quality scientific evidence that advances knowledge and supports evidence-based clinical decision-making.
